Sara Russell, Professor of Planetary Sciences and leader of the Planetary Materials Group, Natural History Museum, London
Sara will tell us about the Barwell meteorite, the UK’s largest meteorite that fell on Christmas eve, and go on to talk about what meteorites can tell us about the formation of our solar system and about how the world’s meteorite collections will soon be complemented by two current asteroid sample return space missions, OSIRIS Rex that is due to collect a sample on October 20th and Hayabusa2 that will return to Earth on Dec 6th.
