Cornish mining equipment manufacturing company wins major order to provide Multi Gravity Separators to tin tailings project in Peru.

A Cornwall Mining Alliance member, Gravity Mining Ltd, is set to supply Multi Gravity Separators (MGS) to Minsur, a Peruvian mining company and world leader in the tin, tungsten and tantalum market, for its latest multi-million dollar B2 tin project. Back-to-back trials at San Rafael, the South American mine site, have proved that Gravity Mining’s MGS technology is superior to all other Enhanced Gravity Devices that had previously been trialed.

Gravity Mining’s Technical Director, Treve Mildren, said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious contract that has put Gravity Mining on to the world map when it comes to the recovery of fine and ultra-fine minerals and metals.”

This new order is the culmination of a year’s research and development by Gravity Mining in conjunction with the University of Exeter Camborne School of Mines, another Cornwall Mining Alliance member. Mr Mildren added: “An order of this magnitude is excellent news for both Gravity Mining and the mining industry in Cornwall as a whole. The DTI has backed the project, in the wake of Brexit, which has allowed us to manufacture all of the machines in Cornwall - a proud moment for all involved.”

News of this order has meant that enquiries have subsequently been flooding in from around the globe and Gravity Mining has recently signed up as a new supplier to a select number of blue chip mining companies around the world.

As part of the project, Gravity Mining will be incorporating its new "Pure Select" (TM) system which has been independently proven to dramatically increase recovery, grade and feed capacity, pushing gravity separation of fine and ultra -fine mineral fractions to a new level.

Gravity Mining Ltd is a team of industry professionals based in Cornwall who have spent the majority of their careers working in metallurgical and mineral processing, predominantly focused on gravity separation and concentration. In the early days, the team was involved in the engineering and manufacturing of multi-gravity separators which were used widely in the Cornish tin industry to prolong mine life beyond original expectations.
