As part of a European Social Fund (ESF) sponsored scheme, the University of Exeter is offering FREE short courses and taster sessions aimed at increasing knowledge and developing skills in the workplace and also to help you to prepare to enter a different job sector
These courses and taster sessions form part of the ESF- funded Widening Participation in Education Project. They are designed to give an introduction to higher education and allow you to learn more about a subject you might be thinking of studying, in an informal setting.
In addition to their ‘Mining 101’ short course, Cornwall Mining Alliance member, Camborne School of Mines (University of Exeter) is offering a free ‘Geology & Gems’ taster session at the Penryn Campus on Tuesday 28th August, from 10.00am to 2.00pm. There will be a two-hour lecture on Geology and Gems delivered by the Camborne School of Mines and short talks on finance and student services. Current students will be on hand to answer any questions and lunch will be provided.
This is a great opportunity to take a tour of the campus and explore the world-class facilities. More information can be found HERE and any interested individuals are invited to contact returntolearning@exeter.ac.uk.
