Geo-Resources Cluster Project Business Breakfast Workshop

The Geo-Resources Strategic Sector Strengthening project, which is a partnership between the Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals, Cornwall Mining Alliance, and University of Exeter, is providing a free business breakfast workshop at Wardell Armstrong International at there offices in Truro, Cornwall.

Workshop Title: Mining Life Cycle

WAI’s multidisciplinary team will lead a workshop which will take attendees through the mining life cycle from prospecting and exploration through environmental and social governance to mining operations, metallurgy, and reclamation. The team will focus on the mining life cycle vis-à-vis the local mining industry and discuss topics including the production of critical minerals in the UK, community engagement, and obtaining social licence to operate. The workshop with conclude with an open discussion forum.

This event is part of the Geo-Resources Strategic Sector Strengthening project. The University of Exeter has been commissioned to deliver the project with delivery partner Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals and strategic partner Cornwall Mining Alliance. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
