Royal Geological Society of Cornwall Annual General Meeting

Title slide of Prof. Frances Wall talk "Rarw volcanoes and rare metals' at RGSC Annual Address.

The RSGS AGM will be held online through zoom (link and agenda below). The AGM will include a talk from Mike Rumsey on the new mineral found in Cornwall, Kernowite.

The Annual Address by the President, Frances Wall, will be on 'Rare Volcanoes and Rare Metals' - Some of the Earth’s rarest volcanoes are made of carbonate, so their compositions are more similar to sedimentary limestone than other igneous rocks like basalt! But carbonatites come from deep in the Earth’s mantle and are our most important sources of some of the rare metals – metals that we need to combat climate change.
