This presentation from SGS Australia (an AusIMM Industry Partner) will focus on the use of AI/machine learning in exploration targeting, and will showcase successful case studies.

About this event

Mineral exploration and targeting need quality data and interpretation to be successful and provide the next generation of operating mines.

Machine learning applications help to leverage exploration data and provide more quality inputs to geologists and engineers, who can then plan exploration programs and increase the discovery success rate.

Attendees will learn how AI can be used in exploration targeting, from data processing to algorithms used, along with challenges and limitations.

The University of Exeter has been commissioned to deliver the Geo-Resources Strategic Sector Strengthening project, which is run through the University of Exeter and Camborne School of Mines in partnership with the Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals (Delivery Partner) and Cornwall Mining Alliance (Strategic Partner).
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
