Cornish Metals (TSX-V:CUSN) is an associate company of Osisko Gold Royalties and building a portfolio of strategic metals assets in the UK and North America. Strongbow’s flagship project is the past producing South Crofty underground tin mine in Cornwall, UK. South Crofty is arguably the most important historical tin mine in the UK and hosts one of the highest grade tin resources globally.
The project has a valid mine permit (to 2071) and planning permission to construct a new process plant. After receiving a water discharge permit in October 2017, the project is now fully permitted. Strongbow plans to bring the project to a production decision and complete a feasibility study.
The 2020 drill programme at South Crofty confirmed the high-grade nature and persistence of the known mineralised structures within South Crofty including the discovery of five new mineralized lodes between and adjacent to historically mined lodes. Equally important, the proof of concept programme has confirmed the suitability of directional and wedge drilling to safely intersect multiple lodes from a single surface or underground drill hole as a means to undertake resource definition drilling and a path to completion of a feasibility study.
Combined with recent reported discovery of high-grade copper-tin mineralisation at the nearby United Downs project, the presence of many new previously un-recorded mineralised structures, in areas with little or no past drilling, demonstrates the exploration potential at both South Crofty and Cornish Metals’ extensive tenure holdings across Cornwall.
