Company Profile

The Cornish Institute of Engineers is a non-profit making civic society, based in Cornwall and closely allied to Camborne School of Mines. Its aims are to promote engineering as a career and to bring all engineering disciplines together for common benefit through sharing of expertise.

We have been bringing together the public, professional engineers and academics for over a century. Though we act primarily in Cornwall we are happy to advise in the general promotion of engineering expertise as a societal good or help build strong relationships with other Cornish networks of expertise. In the past we have also been considered as a point of contact for mining industry expertise and opinion, at a policy level.

We are affiliated with The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (The IoM3) but are otherwise completely independent and constituted as a charitable organisation (no. 269275).
