The Good Growth Fund has released the 'Strategic Sector Development' SPF Opportunity. Geo-Resources, especially technology metals, are identified as a distinctive opportunity for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and are therefore high priority. This is a chance to bid for sector strengthening activities such as funding for a cluster development body, international business events and conferences, research translation and diffusion, workspace, machinery, feasibility studies, and RD&I activities.
Please join us to start putting together a bid to this cluster development call – building on the strengths of the Cornwall Mining Alliance (Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals/University of Exeter) with its members across the sector, as well as Deep Digital Cornwall, and other stakeholders such as the SW Natural Powerhouse group and Cornwall Trade and Investment.
We will be using the results from the two recent meetings on the Centre of Excellence and Shared Prosperity Fund but now specifically concentrating on how to put together the cluster bid and the priority content.
We are inviting you to attend one of the two online briefings on the 27th February 4pm-5pm OR 1st March 8:30am-9:30am, that will outline the opportunity and the potential for the Geo-Resources sector.
This will be followed by a hybrid workshop on the 4th April 9am-12pm in which we will define the priorities for sector strengthening activities to create a bid from the Geo-Resources sector to the Strategic Sector Development Opportunity.
We hope to talk to you soon about how these can be used to enhance the Geo-Resources sector in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
